Pupil Premium
Willoughby Road Primary Academy is situated in the top 20% of the most deprived schools in the country. 89% of the pupils reside in the top 10% of most deprived homes in the area. The number of children who are eligible for FSM is 50% which is above the national average and the majority of these children also have additional learning needs. Children start at the Academy with skills and understanding well below those typical for their age with very few children entering the Academy on track to meet GLD by the end of EYFS.
Pupil premium is additional funding intended to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) will be used to improve outcomes for the children for whom the grant is given in line with current Academy priorities.
Through focussed CPD, targeted interventions and emotional support we are striving to eliminate barriers to learning and progress for our most vunerable pupils. By carefully tailoring the curriculum to the needs of our learners and having high expectations that will raise aspirations, we will ensure that progress is accelerated and we diminish the differences; moving children to at least age related expectations.
